Additional ideas to support Deliberately Well living:

Making a clear choice to be well, feel good and address what isn’t comfortable can happen in large steps and small actions.  I find it very useful and supportive to make use of what I can in between the 5 deliberate steps mentioned previously:

  • Access products that can easily be incorporated into your lifestyle, eating plan, your environment or as part of personal care.  See Resources for Wellness for ideas that you can comfortably include in your choice to be Deliberately Well.
  • Remember the effect of the reflex points in your ears, hands and feet (see what I’ve written under professional services).  You can support your body, in between professional care by doing the following:
    • To improve circulation, rub the outer part of your ears, all round between your forefinger and thumb.  This is great in winter as a warmer!
    • Walk barefoot whenever you can and on different surfaces.  This will provide some general stimulation of the more than 7000 nerve endings in each foot.
    • If you have a smallish ball with knobs on it, squeeze it in your hands while waiting at traffic lights.  Just don’t do it late at night as it’ll keep you up for longer than you need!
  • Breathing is something we pay very little attention to as we all do it automatically.  However, deliberately taking a deep breath in through the nose and blowing it all out through the mouth, two or three times, will increase oxygen levels thereby facilitating better circulation, energy and elimination.  Even better is to breathe in positively and blow out all the irritation and frustration.  Go on, try it!
  • Gratitude for what is good and making use of positive statements or affirmations has been shown to positively affect what happens in people’s lives.  We face many challenges on a daily basis but we can feel supported by choosing to state what is good and what we do have or believe in.  Some of my favourite affirmations are these:
    • I trust life.
    • I live in a loving abundant Universe and I am grateful.
    • I am peaceful and relaxed because I trust the process of life.  All is well in my world.
  • Silence can be used at any point in the day to gather oneself and restore calm.  Practise in small increasing periods to just sit still, be aware of your surroundings, the sounds, the sights, the sensations of smell, possibly taste and even feel.   But do not dwell on them, just experience the moment for what it is.  Quieting the mind and being present is invaluable for restoring calm and focus.
